A Little Street Hero

Sometimes, the dogs who live closest to us — the ones we pass on sidewalks and see sleeping near shop doors — are doing more than we know.

This handsome boy lives in a nearby garage with two other dogs who are cared for by the garage owner. We often stop by with food to make sure they stay full and healthy.

A couple of days ago, the owner shared a story that made my day:
One night at dawn, this boy started barking nonstop. It wasn’t the usual alert bark, he was insisting someone come check. When the owner went outside, he found a thief trying to steal parts from the garage. Thanks to him, the theft was stopped.

To reward their brave protector, the garage staff gave him his favorite food (grilled chicken) and lots of love, of course.

Street dogs aren’t “just strays.” They are guardians, family, loyal companions to the places that give them safety. They protect us more than we realize.

Every dog matters and this one proved it with courage and heart. ❤️🐕
