A Life Saved Just in Time, A Quiet Rescue with a Big Impact
Sometimes, the biggest rescues begin with a small phone call.
Late one night, I received a message from a neighbor ,a dog in our area had been hit by a car two days earlier. He was hiding, unable to move, refusing food, and clearly in pain. It was too late to reach him that night, but I promised to check first thing in the morning.
At sunrise, I went searching.
There he was ,tucked away in a garden corner, scared, hurting, and silent.
When I approached and examined his leg, he cried in pain and tried to hide again. The only good sign was that he could stand, which meant his spine wasn’t broken there was hope.
I contacted three different shelters, but none could take him. They all said the same thing: unless his back is broken, or he has a severe injury, we are not interested.
So the only option left was to help him ourselves.
I called a vet immediately.
He prescribed antibiotics, Vitamin B, anti-inflammatory support, and wound care instructions.
That same day, a kind neighbour offered to help and came with me to give his injections.
The next morning, he finally ate again.
A spark returned.
Three days later, when we visited, he was standing, moving and wagging his tail.
From hiding in agony to walking again, all because people cared.
Today, he still has a wound, but a wonderful man nearby is cleaning it daily and keeping him comfortable. It is slow recovery, but it is recovery.
This rescue reminded me of something simple yet powerful:
💛 Sometimes saving a life isn’t dramatic .it’s consistency, teamwork, compassion, and refusing to give up.
And that is exactly how this boy survived.
