A Change of Plans and a New Friend
Sometimes, the best-laid plans take a detour for the better. Last week, while I was out working on TNR for some of our local regulars, I met this lovely girl. Even though we had never met before, she greeted me with so much kindness and trust that I knew we had to get her a proper check-up.
Because she was new to me, we decided to do a sonar scan just to be safe before proceeding with her surgery. As it turns out, our instincts were right: she is expecting!
While our goal is always to manage the population and keep these animals healthy through fixing, life had other plans for her this time. We couldn’t proceed with the procedure, but we’ve made sure she is safe, healthy, and back in her familiar spot.
I’ll be keeping a very close eye on her over the coming weeks. Once she has brought her pups into the world and finished breastfeeding, we’ll make sure she finally gets fixed. For now, she’s got a full belly and a new friend watching over her. 🐾
