The New Boy ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ•

When I first saw this boy, it was during a heatwave back in August. He looked tired and very thirsty. I went to check on him and gave him some fresh, cold water โ€” he drank it all, though he wasnโ€™t hungry.
After that, I started to notice a pattern. Every Thursday, he would show up to play with the other dogs. At first, not all of them welcomed him โ€” heโ€™s a big, strong boy, but very gentle and soft-hearted. Slowly, I began to see him resting peacefully near some of them, sleeping side by side.

As weeks passed, he started visiting more often. Sometimes, Iโ€™d see him from the window playing happily with the pack, but the moment I went downstairs, jealousy began โ€” the others would growl as if saying, โ€œThatโ€™s our human, donโ€™t come close!โ€
He always looked so confused, like he just wanted to say hello.

So my husband and I started playing with him in front of them to show that heโ€™s part of the family too. We realized he had a habit of playful biting โ€” something weโ€™re gently helping him unlearn with treats and patience.

Last weekend, after a few days of not seeing him, he suddenly appeared again โ€” this time sitting calmly with my dogs. It was such a relief. But when we got closer, our youngest female got jealous and growled at him. We gently corrected her, telling her thatโ€™s not kind, that heโ€™s her friend. While we were teaching her, something beautiful happened โ€” her mother walked over and started grooming him with her teeth, as if to say, โ€œYou belong here too.โ€

We donโ€™t see him every day, but whenever we do, we make sure heโ€™s full, safe, and always welcomed.
