Ziggy’s Story 🐾

When we first met him back in July, Ziggy was just a small pup — around 3 months old. He was all alone in a nearby area, hungry, thirsty, and covered in ticks. We gave him fresh water, a meal, and gently powdered him with Sevin to help ease his discomfort.

Since then, we kept an eye on him whenever we passed by. Last week, we met him again. He wasn’t hungry this time, but sadly, the ticks were back — and his ear looked sore. While I was treating him, a young man approached and asked if the powder would help. He explained that he had tried to remove the ticks the day before, hoping to help, and that’s when I realized why Ziggy’s ear was hurting so much.

I applied a layer of zinc oxide to soothe the pain and explained to the man that removing ticks directly can be painful — instead, I promised to bring him some powder to use safely whenever needed.

Five days later, we went back to check on Ziggy. His ear was healing beautifully, the ticks were gone, and he looked full, calm, and happy again. The man was glad too — and now, Ziggy has not just one person looking after him, but two 💛
