Sun, Safety, and Strategy: Our Summer Plan for the Pack

As the summer heat starts to roll into Egypt, our daily routines with the animals are shifting to focus on one major priority: summer protection. In the warmer months, bugs and parasites become a big challenge for street animals, and we have to be very strategic about how we handle it.
Because our initiative is entirely self-funded, we always have to balance our budget with the best possible care. This summer, we’ve come up with a targeted plan to keep everyone healthy and parasite-free:
The High-Exposure Crew (Bolt, Basbousa, and Spike): These three are local celebrities! Because they live in high-traffic areas and have lots of neighborhood friends who feed them, they are out in the open much more. To give them maximum, long-lasting protection, they will be getting Bravecto this season.
The Yard Crew (Tommy, Dahab, and Jack): Our lovely trio has a safe, designated yard space where they hang out. Because their environment is controlled and away from the main streets, they will be treated with our reliable summer routine: a mix of Sevin powder and baby powder every 10 days. It worked beautifully last summer, and it keeps them happy and bug-free!
Every single one of our core dogs is fully vaccinated, fixed, and monitored daily. By tailoring their care to where they live, we ensure that the community stays safe, the dogs stay healthy, and our resources stretch exactly where they need to go.
Thank you for cheering us on as we prep for another hot summer! ☀️🐾
